Brain injury can occur to anyone, at any age, at any time… uprooting lives and throwing families into turmoil… BINA Stroke and Brain Injury Assistance provides guidance and support to thousands of stroke and brain injury survivors and their families of all ages at every stage of the long road to rehabilitation.

REFERRALS

From an initial referral to an inpatient rehabilitation facility, which is often immediately post-injury, to referrals for outpatient therapy and specialized treatment programs months and even years later, BINA is at the family’s side throughout the long road to rehabilitation.

CASE MANAGEMENT

BINA’s case manager works collaboratively at every stage to assess, plan, coordinate and monitor services for both the brain injury survivor and family.

CRISIS INTERVENTION

BINA provides support and education to families recently affected by brain injury. Assistance is provided to family members of all ages to help them deal with the upheaval in their lives due to the many changes and ongoing issues that arise during the recovery process.

MEDICAL
ADVOCACY

Our medical advocate works with families to identify the optimal clinical setting for a variety of complex medical needs including ventilator care and weaning, dialysis, infection control and wound care. Facilities and providers are researched and visited to ascertain specific areas of expertise. Meetings are held with the family and facility personnel to ensure that the patient’s needs are addressed.
